you know how cell companies give discounts to new customers, but nothing to pre-existing customers?
I was just thinking about this for the G1, couldn’t you have somebody who doesn’t have an account open one and get the phone for the discounted price? Then simply cancel it within the 14day period, because technically the phone doesn’t have to be returned since they paid for it and just have them give you the phone, assuming you’d give them the money to do this for you anyway.

What’s a good amount of cash to have in savings?
I know the general thought is to have 3 or six months of cash in “emergency savings”, but I work much better with round figures. What’s a good amount of cash to have “on hand”, in savings and easily to be reached? What would be appropriate? $5,000? $10,000? More?
Assume living in a non-high end metropolitan area in a blue-collar city.
Thanks in advance.

I need help understanding this Q and A ?
(Q)Allied uses debt in its capital structure, so some of the money used to finance the project will be debt. Given this fact, should the projected cash flows be revised to show projected interest charges? Explain.
(A)The projected cash flows in the table should not be revised to show projected interest charges. The reason being is that the debt is reflected in the cost of capital, and this is used to discount the cash flows.
Why is this the answer, can someone explain ?

If you are tired of cr@p jobs what do you do to make money?
I have decided I would rather be broke then to work at a place as a cash register ever again. Unless of course I’m the owner and I just happen to be running the cash register that day.
All I seem to get hired in is service jobs. On top of that I never get a desk position. I’m always making drinks or food and I some how always sooner or later end up running the cash register.
Why do I not like this? One every where I’ve worked I have no interest in being there other then to make the hourly wage they provide me. So I **** working at food places that I don’t even get any free stuff or discounts in the first place as an employee, the other thing is I couldn’t eat there anyways more then likely since I’m Vegan (yes I’ve tried getting hired at places that serve that kind of food, they don’t hire me!). As for the cash register jobs, I’m tired of managers trying to ***** me over or pass of “the blame” on me. I don’t want to put myself in that position any more of such a responsibility, when I don’t even get a say so in anything, so that manager can set up to frame the “little guy” or at least make the “little guy’s day” a “living h3ll” (yes I have bad luck in getting hired at places with crooked management, one time I left and my supervisor successfully sued the company lol that’s how bad it was … Aramark is EVIL!).
So I’m wondering if anyone has decided at all costs to stay away form such demeaning jobs as well, and how far will you go to keep not having to work for them. In other words what do you do to make your money to meet everyday living costs/expenses.
jetmad1 - don’t assume things, I graduated from college in Dec 2006 and will grad again in August or Dec 2008 (most likely). After getting a High School education in 2001 my job opportunities actually worsened, they have yet to get better. I blame it on the economy.

Why can’t I just file 10 exemptions, put more money into savings and pay up at the end of the year?
Is there any disadvantage to claiming 10 exemptions, sticking the money into a money market or savings account, and paying the IRS at the end of the tax year? I am a single with no kids, so 10 is probably excessively high, but I don’t see any disadvantage to doing what I described above if I save my money properly.
